What is the life of a criminal attorney really like? How does it compare and contrast with those we see on TV?

MOBO asked:
what about the antibiotics online work they do? I am a huge fan of the television show “the practice” from the 90’s and am curious if the life of helen gamble (doing a lot of case work, looking at crime scenes, closing arguements) those kinds of things are real?

No it is not like on TV. It’s also hard to get paid when you represent criminals. Try going into international law.
It’s nothing like Perry Mason, Ben Matlock or any other high profile attorneys who are portrayed on TV.
Most criminal attorneys make very little money and most criminal defendants have very little money. It’s not glamorous at all. Perry Mason would have lunch in a fancy restaurant with Della Street and his private investigator. Ben Matlock often grabbed a hot dog on his way out of the court house. Most criminal defense attorneys get the hot dog.
